SMILE's involvement in this project

Strong support for getting your project off the ground

Highly involved in topics relating to the energy transition, the commune of Le Ferré has committed to encouraging renewable energies and self-consumption wherever possible, and to strive towards the commune’s energy self-sufficiency.

This is why they decided to implement the FERRATI V4 GREEN AC project, a photovoltaic solar scheme in a rural area, based on a collaborative self-consumption project in which the commune will hold the status of Legal organising party, combining:
•    PV panels on the rooftops of 3 buildings (associated with renovation works) for 34 kWp,
•    An electrochemical storage system (Lithium-Ion battery),
•    Management of the entire system,

The project will be deployed over 10 municipal buildings with a range of different use types:
-    Municipal bar-restaurant, professional premises, village hall (production – consumption)
-    Youth centre, town hall, church, sports changing rooms, municipal workshop (consumption)
-    Public lighting system.

The production of fully saleable electricity through PV panels on the roof of another building (9 kWp) completes this collaborative self-consumption project.

The target is to achieve around 45% energy self-sufficiency.

Project objectives:

Techniques :

Develop new techniques around photovoltaics on 3 main themes: collaborative self-consumption, dynamic energy management and electrochemical storage

-    4 photovoltaic generators on rooftops for a total supply of 43 kWp

-    1 Lithium-Ion storage unit, BMS (Battery Management System) representing 40 kWh providing a maximum supply of 15 kVA

-    5 meters communicating across 12 identified consumption sites

-    A global supervision system ESE VIEW + EMS (Energy Management System)

Energy related: The annual consumption of all these sites combined is 80,000 kWh. As the annual production of 3 collaborative self-consumption generators is estimated at around 36,000 kWh, the aim is to reach a level of energy self-sufficiency of around 45%.

Environmental: Sustainable development with renewable energy: photovoltaics

Commercial: Sell the energy produced on certain buildings

Economic: Implement self-consumption and control a portion of the energy consumption at a stable cost for the next 20 years. The electricity costs for the different sites have increased by 6%/year since 2017.

User involvement: Initiation of the lessee manager on the topic of self-consumption.

Added value of the project :

A project on the scale of a rural commune, it encourages the integration of renewable energies and the balance between production and consumption. Through collaborative self-consumption and the resale of surplus energy, it is possible to achieve economic equilibrium.
