SMILE's involvement in this project
Loire-Atlantique Développement SELA deployed two smart grid demonstrators in the Fleuriaye neighbourhood (Carquefou) and the joint development zones Haute Forêt and La Belle Etoile.
The first demonstrator (La Fleuriaye Ouest neighbourhood) is the largest passive operation in France, aiming to achieve the PassivHaus certification on over 600 dwellings and 5000 m2 of services, while generalising the installation of roof top solar panels. The aim is to achieve 100% provision of renewable energy, all uses combined.
The aim of the second demonstrator is to set up an effective smart grid process in an area combining new and existing buildings (La Fleuriaye + La Haute Forêt and La Belle Etoile).
Added value of the project :
- Creation of a neighbourhood that is pleasant to live in, energy neutral and with controlled costs.
- Support the network with flexibility, shedding and self-consumption.
- Secure the energy supply for businesses.
- Development of local renewable energy production and minimisation of consumption.
- Transferable business model.
Start date :
- La Fleuriaye Ouest district (new development) since 2013 and certified Démonstrateur Industriel Ville Durable (DIVD) in 2016.
- Fleuriaye Est, Haute Forêt and Belle Etoile (existing) in 2015 and certified Démonstrateur Industriel Ville Durable (DIVD) in 2016.
